Your Classic Mini cooling system has used the same basic style radiator since its manufacturing year up until the twin point injected cars was introduced when the radiator was moved to the front of the car. It is good to note that the original Mini was powered by an 848cc engine, which was designed for the little back roads of the UK.

Classic mini fletcher radiator has been empowered at the most fragile points. Therefore, fabrication, no cutting, or modification will be needed for installation.

As said before, the Classic mini Fletcher radiator is made with a 40mm brazed aluminum core, and also TIG welded polished aluminum end tanks. What it means is that replacing the OEM radiator that’s on a MINI Cooper S so that it’ll have an aluminum performance radiator from fletcher, will help to improve the capacity of its cooling by keeping the engine cool to prevent overheating. Here are the Materials Needed:

  • Two jack stands
  • Floor jack
  • Drain pan
  • 2 M8 x 100 bolts
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • 1/4″ and 3/8″ ratchet
  • Pliers
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • The metric socket set – 8mm – 18mm

Here are the Classic mini radiator removal steps to take:

Step 1 – Get the front bumper and crash bar removed

Step 2 – Now drain the engine coolant

Step 3 – Ensure that the radiator push pins are removed and disconnect the upper radiator hose

Step 4 – Then loosen the A/C condenser

Step 4 – Now install bolts into the frame rails

Step 5 – Finally, remove the radiator
